A Magical Start

I love to be a fairy god mother.

I like to use my magical power.

I am not a pretty girl.

But I have my own magical world.

I want to have good score.

And I hope I can achieve more.

My name is Angel and I am 15 years old. I came from an international city, Hong Kong. I got in touch with drama in an English secondary school in Hong Kong. I was lucky that I was chosen to be an important character when I first played drama. Our play was called The Cinderella and I was the fairy god mother. We rewrote the script and added a lot of creative things into the play. I was responsible for all the costumes, make-up and movements design. I work really hard and learn a lot of things about drama. We won the champion in the Hong Kong Speech Festival. After that, I was chosen to be a member of Chinese choral speaking team in our school. We won 2 champions in Hong Kong speech festivals. Later on, I joined the debating club to practice my pronunciation and public speaking skills, but I gave up drama because of pressure. This year, I chose to take performing class because I want to restart drama performance. I want to make my performance better and maturer. I have set up goals for this class and I hope that I can accomplish these goals.

Firstly, I would like to be more confident. I have stopped performing for two years already. My confidence was taken away by time. I am not that outgoing. I feel shy to act and talk. I dislike competition. I don’t even want to speak in class. I want to regain my confidence. I want to have courage to stand on the stage, smile to my audience and listen to their rounds of applause again. Besides, I dream to be a lawyer. Confident is a must criteria for lawyer. I wish that I can be a brave able woman in the future.

Secondly, I would like to have a B or above for this subject in my report card. This is my first time to attend an interactive class. But I am never afraid of trying new things. I would like to participate more in class and work hard in every blog post and project. I hope that I can have good grade in the end of each marking period to prove my ability. I am not satisfied with my GPA, so I would like to have better grade in this subject to increase my GPA.

Lastly, I would like to learn other kinds of performance besides drama. I hope that I can learn to do silent movie because I have never tried it before. I have watched the videos made by the students last year and I love their creativity and sense of humor. I wish that  I can have my own silent movie product.  Also, I would like to try poetry. I have tried Mandarin and Cantonese versions of poetry before in Hong Kong. I would like to have a try in English this time. I hope that I can have a lot of fun with these new things and learn more professional knowledge.
